The Vision CRC mourns the loss of Jerry Chen, a PhD candidate with the Vision CRC, who passed away on the 30th November after a long battle with cancer.

Jerry was a brilliant and dedicated student who was highly respected by staff and students. >

The primary eyecare model developed in India by Vision CRC core partner, LV Prasad Eye Institute, is delivering effective eyecare to rural areas. Six new primary care Vision Centres (VC) were inaugurated during April – June 2008, bring the total to 49 VCs providing high quality and sustainable eyecare in rural and underserved urban areas. > more | archive
Project: The Impact of Vision Impairment on Children with Low Vision.
Globally, nearly 4% of those with vision impairment are children. Gillian’s research found the main impact of vision impairment on children was ability to socialise, and the level of vision and support predicted the level of participation in school and living activities. >
